This Weekend

This weekend was both awesome and exhausting at the same time. I got to spend a lot of time with Lisa, which was the awesome part, but I also worked about 30 hours in 3 days (or will have worked this much as of tomorrow at 9:00PM).

It didn't help much that I had trouble sleeping both nights due to circumstances completely out of my control. I did as I always do, just rolled with everything. I suppose after my good-nights sleep tonight (I have the ability to sleep in a little bit tomorrow), everything will be okay.

My Thanksgiving this year went very well. I invited Lisa along, and we all spent some quality time with my parents. The food was awesome! Let me tell you, and overall the day was great.

Friday was the craziest day-after-Thanksgiving I've ever done. It was busy for a whole 45 minutes, then it was just steady, bordering on slow, for the rest of the day. I worked a 13 hour shift (3:00AM to 4:00PM). I came home and met up with Lisa. I was surprisingly not tired that evening, seeing as I tried to go to bed at 7:00PM the night before, but could only really get 2 hours of sleep due to circumstances completely outside my control. So, because I wasn't tired, we decided to go to a movie.

We went to Enchanted. I liked the movie, it was a very feel-good type of show. The animation to live-action was awesomely developed and created. Overall, I recommend this to anyone looking for something to go to with that special someone.

Saturday I worked a 9-hour shift. I had to be there at 8:30AM, which sucked. Again, I tried to go to bed at 10:00PM, thinking it would help from the night before, but again wasn't able to get to sleep. I ended up going to bed around 12:00PM. I got 7 hours of sleep, but I was still reeling from the night before so it didn't do too much. The shift went pretty fast as Customer Service was actually busy for once. That, I enjoyed. After work I again met up with Lisa. This time we decided to go to some friends of ours house to play ROCK BAND. We had a really good time.

Finally, it brings us to right now. I'm sitting in my room, typing up this blog, and thinking about heading to bed. It will be nice to actually be able to sleep for a decent period of time for once this weekend.

That was pretty much my weekend in a nutshell. Overall, it was a killer weekend, I enjoyed a lot of it.

I worked hard...

I played hard...

I slept little.

Starting...

What an interesting name for a blog, right?  Well, I'm not promising it will make any more sense by the time you finish reading this as it does now, but go ahead...ready anyway's! It won't kill you, that I can guarantee.

Tomorrow. That is the day that I start something new.  A new way of going about my days.  At work, At home, everywhere.  Everything that I've wanted to start is going to start tomorrow I've decided.

Why have I decided this? I don't know...Tomorrow just seemed like a good day to begin.  First of all, its the 25th, which is an odd number.  I like odd numbers.  2 + 5 = 7, which is also odd...so that makes it a doubly good start day.  Thursday is also the 5th day of the week  (if you start from Sunday, like you're supposed to).  See, that is why this is a good day to start my new activities.

What will I start? I am not going to tell anyone...I don't want to jinx myself.  So, HA! I know something you guys don't.

So, I'm done with this entry now.  I guess I did succeed with explaining the title of this entry, but I left you wondering...

Isn't that a good way to leave people though, then at least they will think about my blog after they have left...

Happy

I know, that is a pretty lame title for my first blog in about a month, but it's the only title that fit.  For the first time in a long time, I feel happy.  I have felt this way for about the last month and I don't see it going anywhere soon. Everything is working out beautifully both personally and professionally.

The Vegas trip went extremely well.  Everything I was in charge of went down with only a few hitches, but I dealt with the issues just fine.  I was actually complemented on my work!  I enjoy getting compliments, I also enjoy knowing that I did a job well.  I'm not out of the fire yet though, there is still a lot of work to be done.

One interesting story about the Vegas trip is what I call the "Story of the Phone." I know, a little too dramatic, but let me have my fun...okay! Well, anyway's, While I was in Vegas, my Treo decided to take a monumental dump on me! I mean, it was dead as a doornail. I lost EVERYTHING.  Every contact, every text message, every event I had programmed into the calendar.  Now, lets take this to the next level...my dumbass never backed up the phone. So everything was totally gone.  Needless to say, I now backup my phone both on my computer every night, and on its SD card once a week.  I will not let that happen again, especially on a business trip...it's the worst time that it could have died on me.

While I'm on the topic of cell phones, I will talk about my most recent interaction with Sprint, which actually really surprised me.  I realized that I had gone over 300+ text messages last month (that's what happens when you have a phone with a full QWERTY keypad).  I called them with a proposal.  I would sign up for unlimited text messaging if they credited me back the $50 in overages...to my surprise...they agreed! I now have unlimited text messaging, plus some other cool things, for only $5 more per month.  Now I can say goodbye to worrying about texting!

I am currently preparing a training session that will take place in about 2 weeks.  I decided that I hated all of our old training material.  It was worthless and stupid to say the least.  I decided that I would use this week and the first part of next week to put together an entirely new training booklet. It's getting there...it should be completed by the first part of next week if I budget my time right! After the training, I should have a little more time to focus on other things, like learning Chinese.

Yes, you all read that correct.  I am going to attempt to learn Chinese.  Lisa gave me a computer program to help in this endeavor. Rosetta Stone: Chinese.  I have read a lot about the Rosetta Stone suite of software, and everything that I have read gives nothing but praise.  I figure it would not be a bad idea to learn this language for three main reasons:

1) I would be able to communicate better with Lisa's Family, plus having the opportunity to be around  native speakers will aid me in picking up the language, and speaking it correctly.

2) China is economically growing at a furious rate, attempting to learn its language could be in my best interest.

3) It is a challenging, but very neat, language.

I have been listening to these CD's that Lisa picked up for me all day.  They are mix CD's.  One is titled "What's Up? 90s Alternative Radio" and the second is called "Party Starter: 80s Mix" I don't know where she bought these gems, but they have some awesome, memory inducing songs on them.  When I put them into iTunes, it didn't have the artwork for them (I have an iPod Touch, and I like to see the artwork), but I had so much trouble finding the artwork...I have no idea where she picked these CD's up. I might scan the art into my computer. Regardless, I am so addicted to them. In fact, I'm listening to them right now pretty loud, its a good thing that Laura is not home :) It's hard to believe that the 90's was 8 years ago. It makes me feel old, even though I know I'm not.

Hmm, I wonder where Laura is...she had her wisdom teeth removed yesterday, I wonder if she is feeling okay today...I haven't talked to her all day.  I will find out sooner or later...I hope :)

Well, I think it is time to wrap up this entry. In conclusion, I'm happy. Enough said.

Long-Awaited Post

Yes, that's right! It is time for me to put up a new post.

I know it has been a while, with small blogs (that hardly deserve to be titled "Blog") going up every once in a while, many of you probably thought I had left the blogging world.  Well, unfortunately the answer to that question is NO.  I'm still here, my life has just been really crazy lately.  Let me elaborate:

1) The New Job is going very well, but it keeps me very busy.  Due to events that were out of my control, I am now the only Marketing guy on-staff. Considering I just graduated in May, that is a pretty big break.  This has been an outstanding opportunity for me, and I believe this is only the beginning, much experience can be gained in this job, real life, useful, awesome knowledge! Pretty freaking exciting, right?

2) The New House is going awesome as well.  I honestly couldn't ask for a better roommate than Laura.  There was a reason that we became best of friends, and that is extremely apparent in our current living arrangement. Curt is over so much that he might as well live here with us, and I love that too.  I consider myself extremely lucky to be living in my current state.

3) My Relationship Status has recently changed.  Yes, that's right. I am no longer on the market ladies, I'm sorry.  Seriously though (even though this blog states "Seriousness is Over-Rated"), I have connected with a long-time friend, her name is Lisa, and she is awesome! I couldn't ask for more.  We get along very well, it is funny how sometimes the most unexpected things happen when you least expect.

4) My Work is Taking me to Las Vegas this Saturday for a Trade Show event. I will be gone until Thursday night, and I would be lying if I said I wasn't excited.  I've never been on a business trip before.  Plus, we convinced the boss to buy everyone interested tickets to "The Phantom of the Opera" on the company.  Apparently, they built a stage within the Venetian specifically for this show.  I wish I could take Lisa, she would enjoy it, I'm pretty sure.  I will have much to talk about upon my return, so stay tuned...

That pretty much wraps up everything HUGE.  Now for one more, small, little, amazing fun fact:

A few nights ago, I ate 2 pounds of strawberries....yes, you read that right, I said two, like the number, and then I said pounds, like what people weigh.  I didn't want to let them go bad and I thought they might...

Mental note to self: Never buy two pounds of strawberries for one person....

Good Night Folks...
