She arrived last night around 12:30AM. I was at the airport to greet her and everything went as smoothly as it possibly could have – considering her plane was 2 hours late and in the middle of the delay it was erased off of the Status board altogether and didn’t come back. This particular delay got me thinking. Buy build a very large-scale international airport in a city that is right next to a lake and who’s weather is known to be worse than even Omaha’s? I don’t think we will ever find an answer to that question, but we will be able to expect any flight between Chicago and here will be severely delayed. I will be thoroughly impressed the day that a Chicago flight arrives on-time.
Regardless, Lisa’s back and I’m excited. I was ‘that guy’ in the airport last night, you know, the guy with the flowers waiting for someone to get off the plane? Yep, that was me…and it was pretty fun too. She loved the flowers that I got for her; she thought they were very pretty. I was surprised that they even lived – they had been without water for going on 6 hours by the time she got them – but there they were, still red and pretty.
Last night while waiting for the evening to come I decided to cook some random meal from scratch. I pan-fried some Pork and then made some potatoes. It turned out OK, it could have been a lot better had I baked the Pork – that and the fact that by pan searing the Pork it filled the living room/kitchen with smoke. I’ll probably try baking next time. At least it gave me something to eat today! Well – I will try to post some pictures of some of the things that Lisa brought back from China for me soon!
Until then…再见 (zàijiàn)
